Dissected Carotid Artery?

Carotid dissection on angiogram (from archive)

I went to the ER last month with symptoms of what I thought were a stroke. I started seeing double. (top to bottom not side to side). Then my right side went slightly numb. By the time I got to the hospital I had a hard time speaking and remembering address, phone number etc... Each of these symptoms only lasted a few minutes each. CT Scan, CT w/die, Ecocardiogram, MRI, EEG, EKG, Blood Sugar, Cholesteral all OK.

On day three a sonagram on my Carotid Artery should a "small nick". Diagnosis was a Dissected Carotid Artery.. I'm now on Coumadin and a Beta Blocker (mild dose). All over the internet I read about how this puts me in a high risk to have a full blown stroke but my Neurologist laughed that off saying that doesn't apply to me because I just had "TIA like symptoms" and reiterated it was a "small nick". So, I'm asking who's right? My Neurologist or the internet?
